f8 Poetry
My friend, Dylan Jayawardane (of Google) wrote this today during f8, which is simply incredible:
“There’s been very little discussion about the far reaching social and behavioral impacts of social networks. They represent a paradigm shift in human interactions akin to the changes introduced by the steam engine, or the telephone. It is about to make your daughter more promiscuous, your government more fair, your workplace more open, your life more distracted, your desires more heightened, your goals more lofty, your identity more muddled, your nationality less relevant and your inhibitions more deficient. It’s about to do all this at a rate thousand times faster than when the steam engine changed the world. On the good side, our generation is IN for the ride. Plug me in Scotty!”
